Evardome, CESO V convened the 1st Division Management Committee Meeting for the fiscal year 2024 hosted by the Secondary School Heads Association at The Mills Country Club, Unity Road, Carmelray Industrial Park, Canlubang, Calamba City on February 6, 2024.

In her message, SDS Evardome reminded everyone of the Divisionโ€™s strategic direction, operational excellence, and good governance for improved academic performance which can be achieved through Project DREAMS. She discussed the order of Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte on the immediate removal of administrative tasks of public school teachers following the issuance of DepEd Order No. 2, s. 2024.

OIC-ASDS Nadine C. Celindro welcomed the participants and highlighted the significance of the meeting as โ€œthis has been instrumental in navigating obstacles in ensuring that our operations run smoothly.โ€ She presented the proposed revisions or amendments to DepEd Order No. 022, s. 2023 entitled Implementing Guidelines on the School Calendar and Activities for the School Year 2023-2024.

Meanwhile, SDS Evardome facilitated the detailed discussions about DepEd Memorandum No. 291, s. 2008 on the Guidelines for the Implementation of CSC Resolution No. 080096 on Working Hours for Public School Teachers, Republic Act No. 4670 or the Magna Carta for Public School Teachers, and DepEd Order No. 2, s. 2024 on the Immediate Removal of Administrative Tasks of Public School Teachers as โ€œschool heads and non-teaching personnel shall have the sole responsibility to perform the administrative tasks enumerated in this DepEd Order.โ€

Other highlights of the discussion include the responsibility of the school heads and non-teaching personnel to perform administrative tasks in schools, clustering of deployed non-teaching personnel, hiring of personnel under a contract of service or job order, and the roles and responsibilities of the SGOD, Personnel Section, and schools for strict compliance with this Order.

Curriculum Implementation Division Chief Mariliza T. Espada gave updates and reminders on the submission of assessment data in all learning areas of key stages 1 to 4 for SY 2023-2024, reiteration on the implementation of Catch-Up Fridays, regional monitoring on the conduct of Catch-Up Fridays, submission and consolidation of reports on the suspension of classes, Regional Schools Press Conference, and Division Festival of Talents.

Chief of School Governance and Operations Division Dolorosa S. De Castro shed light on the recognition of school personnel as per Division Memorandum No. 247, s. 2023 on the Adoption of the Enhanced Policy Guidelines on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence, submission of GAD, LAC, and INSET proposals, Learnersโ€™ Information System, and DepEd Order No. 27, s. 2019 on the Guidelines on the Yearly Collection of Data or Information Requirements and Validation Processes.

The last part of the program focused on addressing issues and concerns in performing administrative tasks and implementing various programs, projects, and activities mandated by the DepEd Central Office.
