Calamba City Mayor Roseller ‘Ross’ H. Rizal and SDS Merthel M. Evardome together with OIC-ASDS Nadine C. Celindro reinforced their commitment to advancing research and innovation for the sixth installment of Project RIZALiksik (Research and Innovation, Zeal for Academic Leadership) at Venus Parkview Hotel, Baguio City, from August 30 to September 1, 2024.

In a recent address, Mayor Roseller “Ross” H. Rizal emphasized the city’s unwavering support for public school teachers by providing essential resources such as laptops. He announced that 100% of the city’s public school teachers have already received laptops. Looking ahead, Mayor Rizal assured, “We will allocate a budget to ensure that newly hired teachers are also equipped with laptops.”

This initiative underscores Mayor Rizal’s commitment to enhancing educational practices and supporting the professional development of educators in the city.

A total of 164 public elementary and secondary teachers from six schools participated in the Research and Innovation Expo, where they proudly showcased their projects. The participating schools included Lecheria Elementary School, Lawa Elementary School, Laguerta Elementary School, Latian Elementary School, Post Elementary School, and the Integrated School of Lawa.

In her message, SDS Merthel M. Evardome, CESO V, highlighted various research and innovation practices for teachers to adopt and draw inspiration from. She emphasized the significance of systems development within the Schools Division Office and the implementation of innovative strategies in teaching and learning.

SDS Evardome encouraged teachers to engage in collaborative efforts, stating, “We need to align our efforts with others who can assist us in co-creating impactful research and innovations.”

Her remarks were intended to inspire educators to seek partnerships and embrace innovative approaches to enhance educational outcomes.

Meanwhile, SEPS Dexter M. Palanas provided a comprehensive overview of the co-creation process for scaling up research and innovation. He explained that this process involves collaborative efforts among diverse stakeholders to develop and expand new ideas, solutions, and technologies.

PSDS of Cluster 2, Flor I. Tomas, elaborated on the importance of research and innovation for learners, teachers, and overall school operations. She highlighted how these elements contribute to improved educational outcomes and enhance the effectiveness of schools.

Six research presenters showcased their completed school-based research and innovation projects. The presenters were Jonalyn B. Balaan from Lecheria ES, Jerry A. Agustin from IS of Lawa, Mary Kris Faye D. Aya-Tengco from Post ES, Gladys C. Delima from Latian ES, Mayeth R. Orlanda from Laguerta ES, and Charlie B Borromeo from Lawa ES.

Their presentations highlighted innovative approaches and findings designed to enhance educational practices and outcomes within their respective schools.
