Jose Rizal Memorial School of SDO Calamba City partnered with STMicroelectronics Foundation under the program “Tablets for Kids” also known as T4K Program. This partnership provides children the experience to enhance their skills in using technology in the learning process. 

To achieve the goals of the K to 12 Program, the Department of Education supports partnership-building program with “different groups in the field of work immersion opportunities …, use of  facilities and equipment , additional teacher training opportunities and additional resources in the form of donations” (DO no. 40 s., 2015)

Supported with DepEd Order No. 40 s., 2015  , schools are now  creating linkages with different stakeholders  in order to provide the needs of the learners in order to perform with excellence and be developed well roundedly.

STMicroelectronics Foundation is a non profit organization based in Geneva and was established in 2001. Its prime mission is to sponsor projects that employ the use of modern sciences and high  technology. It has spearheaded programs which aims at spreading the benefits of digital technology , by providing free of cost both the tools/equipments  as well as the basic training to those who have limited knowledge on the use of computers and in accessing the internet.  From the minimum age of 9 up to preadolescents aged 13 , in 20 hours the students can have a complete familiarization with ICT using different pedagogical approach which the teachers will acquire upon training with STMicroelectronics.

STMicroelectronics has already trained 600,000 people in 17 countries globally including the Philippines. Fortunately, Jose Rizal Memorial School of SDO Calamba City  is  a recipient of this T4K Program in the Philippines.

Surely this partnership is a success . All the recipeints were truly  thankful, motivated, and inspired to learn.
