
Alternative Learning System mobile teachers, along with select Senior High School ALS teachers, gathered for the second Learning Action Cell session on September 27, 2024, at Monte Vista Hotsprings & Conference Resort, Pansol, Calamba City.

The training emphasized the adoption of effective strategies aligned with modern educational standards and practices, ensuring the teachers are equipped to deliver high-quality English language education.

This LAC session was conducted as part of Project ROSSELER (Results-Oriented Social Services in Education for Learning Enhancement and Recovery), a key initiative aimed at elevating the instructional capabilities of ALS teachers. Project ROSSELER seeks to modernize ALS programs by integrating innovative teaching methods, including updated tools and techniques for improving literacy and comprehension skills among learners.

In her opening message, PSDS Thelma G. Calatin reminded the participants of the importance of actively applying the knowledge gained from such training sessions. She urged the teachers to take their learnings seriously and to implement them effectively in their respective classrooms, ensuring that the training translates into tangible improvements in their teaching practice.

Meanwhile, EPS Andrea C. Senadoza, who served as a resource speaker, delivered an in-depth discussion on pedagogical skills in reading comprehension. She outlined key objectives for the session, focusing on enhancing teachersโ abilities to engage students in critical reading and comprehension activities. EPS Senadoza highlighted the need for dynamic and adaptive teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners, particularly those in the ALS program, many of whom face unique challenges in accessing formal education.
