The Alternative Learning System (ALS) recently held its second monthly meeting to address various issues and concerns related to the implementation of ALS programs among its teachers. This regular gathering serves as a platform for discussing strategies, sharing best practices, and ensuring the effective delivery of educational services to ALS learners.

The meeting was attended by CiD Chief Mariliza T. Espada, PSDS and Division Focal Person Victorina D. Palanas, two Education Program Supervisors for ALS (EPSAs), Ronna F. Balidoy and Wilmer J. Nombrado, along with 15 dedicated ALS teachers from various districts. Their participation highlights the collaborative effort to enhance the quality and accessibility of education for out-of-school youth and adult learners.

Key topics discussed included clarifications regarding the Transportation and Teaching Aid Allowances, which were raised as major agenda items. These allowances are vital in supporting ALS teachers, who often travel to remote locations to reach their learners. Additionally, the submission of the monthly accomplishment report and the implementation of the Monthly Reward System for teachers, aimed at recognizing their efforts and achievements, were also discussed.

Other matters discussed included the submission and verification of Weekly Home Learning Plans (WHLPs), Daily Time Records (DTRs), and Learning Action Cell (LAC) session documents. These administrative tasks are essential for monitoring progress and ensuring accountability among ALS educators.

The meeting concluded with an agreement on the proper implementation of the banner program, Project ROSSELER (Results Oriented Social Services in Education for Learning Enhancement and Recovery), and its impact on learners. The program aims to provide targeted support and interventions to enhance learning outcomes and recover lost learning opportunities, especially in the wake of challenges brought about by the pandemic.

Overall, the meeting reaffirmed the commitment of ALS stakeholders to deliver quality education and support to all learners, ensuring that no one is left behind.
