
Aimed at supporting the effective and efficient management of plans and programs, the Schools Division Office of Calamba City orients the users of the Program Management Information System on DepEd Order No. 11, s. 2021 entitled Guidelines on the Operationalization of the Program Management Information System at Chateau Bleu Resort on March 14-15, 2024.

In her message, SDS Merthel M. Evardome, CESO V, emphasized how careful planning ensures optimum resource utilization. She stressed that the information system will further improve progress monitoring of the status of program and project implementation in the Division and schools since โimplementing units will utilize the PMIS by 2025.โ

Mr. Adrian A. Bullo, Planning Officer III of DepEd Region IV-A CALABARZON, provided an overview of the PMIS journey from 2013 to 2021. He mentioned that the system was first conceptualized as GMIS in 2013 and was initially developed and rolled out to schools in 2014.

The latest facilities and updates to be deployed include enhanced Work and Financial Plan modules, Activity Request and Authority to Conduct facilities, Accomplishment Reporting, Plan Adjustment Module, and Report Generation.

Mr. Bullo explained the major processes of the PMIS which begins with accessing the PMIS, preparing plans and budget, executing and implementing the plans, and progress monitoring, plan adjustment, and generation of reports. He emphasized that all activities to be conducted shall be prepared, recorded, and finalized using the AR and ATC modalities in the system.

The participants were hands-on during the simulation on the use of the PMIS. As part of the workshop, they prepared the expenditure matrix using the standard template downloaded from the PMIS which contains the KRA, programs or projects, outputs, milestones, activities, and their corresponding expense items.
