Aimed at keeping private schools informed and updated on relevant DepEd issuances, the Schools Division Office of Calamba City brewed the First Quarter Kapehan sa Bulwagan with Private Schools’ Administrators at Bulwagang Rizal, 4th floor of the DepEd main building on April 25, 2024.

 

SGOD Chief Dolorosa S. De Castro introduced to everyone the four Public Schools District Supervisors of the Division, namely Romeo D. Ramos of Cluster 1, Victorina D. Palanas of Cluster 4, Arlene M. Garcia of Cluster 5, and Robert C. Salazar of Cluster 10.

 

De Castro emphasized the DepEd Order No. 88, s. 2010 entitled 2010 Revised Manual of Regulations for Private Schools in Basic Education that was amended through the issuance of DepEd Order No. 11, s. 2011.

 

PSDS Robert C. Salazar led the discussion on understanding the salient features of DepEd’s MATATAG K to 12 Curriculum. He explained the K-10 Instructional Design Framework which is a flexible and adaptable structure that ensures effective teaching and learning, allowing teachers to use their creativity confidently as “their presence in the classroom is indispensable.”

 

LRP focal and PDO I Jerwin L. Patiga gave everyone an overview of youth formation programs, projects, and activities. He also presented the Child Protection Committee Functionality Tool Matrix which is a set of indicators to measure the level of functionality of child protection committees in schools so “we can protect our learners from different forms of abuse, exploitation, and violence.”

 

EPS-SGOD Imee P. Aldea provided feedback and suggestions on the pressing issues raised and encountered by private schools.

 

The next Kapehan sa Bulwagan is scheduled on June 28, September 27, and December 13, 2024.
