The Schools Division of Calamba City completed the second batch of the 2024 Peer Helper Training for Secondary Schools from October 17 to 19, 2024, at Canossa Academy’s SMC Building.
Guided by DepEd Memorandum No. 119, s. 2019, and DepEd Order No. 32, s. 2017, the program equipped student leaders with essential skills to support their peers and foster a more inclusive school environment.
The training was a collaborative effort between the School Governance and Operations Division, School Health and Youth Formation Sections, the Calamba City Population Management Office, and the City Health Office. It brought together SSLG teacher-advisers, guidance advocates, and 10 selected secondary school learners from Calamba Bayside IS, Calamba IS, Eduardo Barretto Sr. IS, and Makiling IS.
Participants engaged in interactive workshops and activities, gaining valuable insights into the roles and responsibilities of peer helpers.
The Division commends these student leaders for their commitment to supporting their peers. Their efforts highlight the power of youth engagement and the importance of fostering a culture of care and inclusivity in schools.
