The Curriculum Implementation Division of SDO Calamba City conducted the first phase of the Division Orientation-Workshop on the Development of PISA-Aligned Weekly Learning Activities in English, Math, and Science that will take place in three phases at Bulwagang Rizal, 4th floor of the DepEd main building on November 4, 2024.
 
In her message, OIC-ASDS Nadine C. Celindro underscored the importance of preparing learners for the upcoming PISA examination and highlighted the critical role of reading comprehension in understanding test items. She emphasized the need for teachers to focus on making learners functionally literate.
Meanwhile, CID Chief Mariliza T. Espada provided an overview of PISA, emphasizing the significance of training teachers to craft PISA-like tests that play a crucial role in shaping every Filipino child into a 21st-century learner.
 
Participants include selected school heads, head teachers, and master teachers from public elementary and secondary schools in Calamba City.
This orientation aims to increase the percentage of Calamba City learners performing at or above proficiency levels in PISA.
 
Specifically, it seeks to orient participants on the key features of PISA and the weekly learning activities, develop PISA-aligned weekly learning activities for the 3rd and 4th quarters, and reflect on the importance of creating PISA-aligned Weekly Learning Activities in English, Math, and Science.
