Guidance advocates from across the city gathered for a significant Training-Workshop on Building and Administering Improved Counseling Services for Clients at the Training Center, 4th floor of the DepEd new building.

 

The event aimed to empower educators with enhanced skills in delivering effective guidance and counseling services to address the growing needs of learners and their families.

 

SDS Merthel M. Evardome, CESO V, opened the workshop with a powerful message, emphasizing the crucial role of teachers as role models. “Teachers should inspire their students and set an example for their colleagues. A teacher’s influence extends beyond the classroom,” she said.

 

SDS Evardome also called for vigilance in the wake of alarming cases of lost children and kidnapping, urging educators to collaborate closely with parents to ensure student safety. She concluded by encouraging teachers to embrace their profession joyfully. “Enjoy your journey as a teacher. It’s a calling that shapes the future,” she added.

 

This training workshop, led by CID Chief Marilisa T. Espada and EPS in Values Education and GMRC Clariza G. Terones, with the support of SDS Evardome and ASDS Celindro, is NEAP and PRC accredited, with Accreditation No.: PTR-2024-621-6935, credited with 5 CPD Units.

 

Participants engaged in interactive sessions aimed at equipping them with strategies to handle diverse counseling scenarios. Topics included effective communication with students and parents, addressing mental health concerns, and fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment.
