In preparation for the incoming School Year 2019-2020, DepEd Calamba City conducted its Division-wide Early Registration for the incoming learners of Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grade 7 and Grade 11 in all its public schools last January 26, 2019, Saturday. The dynamic Planning Service Director of the Central Office (CO), Director Roger Masapol monitored this activity.

As stipulated in DepEd Order No. 6, s. 2017(Multi Year Implementing Guidelines on Early Registration), Early Registration is conducted every last Saturday of January and ends on the last Friday of February. This aims to locate, identify, and register Out of School Children (OSC) and Out of School Youth (OSY). Further, it identifies and registers learners with disabilities; living in an off-grid community; living in an area of criminality/drug abuse; having chronic diseases; having nutritional problems; victims of child abuse; undocumented; in conflict with law; living in the streets; and those who are no longer in school. This is so since “Education is for all”.

Early Registration of DepEd addresses potential gaps that may arise before the enrollment in June. Particularly, this serves as an estimate for the schools provisions of human resources and education facilities needed in the coming school year. Moreover, this is an avenue of DepEd for partnership with the Local Government Units, Parents-Teachers Associations and even Barangay Officials.

Director Masapol accompanied by Mr. Jonathan Diche, CO’s Learner Information System (LIS) and School Forms Technical Specialist visited Jose Rizal Memorial School and E. Barretto Sr. National High School.  He mentioned that the activity was “truly inclusive”. Further, Director Masapol congratulated SDO Calamba for having a “very organized and client friendly” Early Registration Process.

SDO Calamba, as an ISO 2009:2015 certified Schools Division, continuously serves the community, quality programs and projects that create good relationship through strong collaboration with its industry/community partners adhering to its Mantra: “ Una sa Lahat, Serbisyong Tapat  at Karapat-dapat, SDO Calamba City!”
