The Second week of May, 2021 is a busy but healthy week for SDO Calamba City, through its Medical Unit, the School Based Feeding Program (SBFP), headed by Dr. Jaztine Caraos with the SBFP Coordinator Nurse Cyril Paner, was resumed on May 10,2021 which will end on July 8,2021.  It distributed nutritious food pack, following a 20-day cycle menu, composed of different combination of fortified breads, E-Nutriban, fruits, root crops, and milk. These nutritious food  packs are delivered weekly to homes of 10,268 beneficiaries who are all Kindergarten and Grades 1 to 2 severely wasted and wasted pupils.

Meanwhile, since the usual dental visitations and its monitoring was hampered due to the new normal situation, on May 11 to 12, 2021, Dental Healthcare kits were distributed to schools at the LLC Auditorium by Dr. Jethroe Matusalem and Dr. Mark Lawrence Natividad.  They distributed 1467 boxes of Dental Healthcare supplies comprised of toothbrush, toothpaste, and liquid soap to schools for its 21,289 Kindergarten and Elementary pupils.

Though there were challenges , like the shifting back of NCR + bubbles to the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) for two weeks and adjusted to Modified ECQ for another two weeks, SDO Calamba City resumed and continuously implements health programs. This is to address hunger and malnutrition; and to ensure provision of dental needs among learners even in this trying times.  Its mantra: “Una sa Lahat Serbisyong tapat at Karapat-dapat!” holds true to serve the entire educational community by providing quality basic education to learners and to bring up healthier and happier young Calambeños.
