SDO Calamba City , headed by Schools Division Superintendent  Susan DL Oribiana, donated Ph 330,000.00 worth of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to the different public hospitals in Laguna last April 21,2020 Tuesday. Cash donations came from teachers, school heads, non-teaching personnel of SDO Calamba City.  Kapayapaan IS and San Ramon Elementary  School received a donation of face shield materials from Faithful Jesus Church, a religious organization. Their teachers offered their labor of love to create 300 face shields as part of the PPEs  which were purchased and distributed to the different Laguna Provincial  Hospitals (LPH).

The PPEs were donated to three prime LPH , specifically, Dr. Jose P Rizal Memorial Hospital in Calamba received by Admin Staff Marilyn Araw Iran, LPH-San Pablo District Hospital in San Pablo City received by Nurse Priscilla M.Capuno  and Laguna Medical Center at Sta. Cruz, Laguna received by Nurse Rachell Llamoso . SDO Calamba City distributed the PPEs to the center of the different Laguna Districts, which cater to majority of the masses. Soc Mob SEPS Ronald Manaig, who supervised the activity, felt the overwhelming pour of donations from schools and the uncontained happiness reflected on the recipients’ smiling eyes and thankful words.

Together with the PPEs were artwork and messages created by several learners honoring the frontliners.  The recipients were touched when they received the art of love from learners. To them it was “priceless” and “it adds to their confidence, reading such messages.”

Lagunense Frontliners are primarily concerned with the welfare of suspected and confirmed CoViD-19 patients of Laguna.  Just like in any other parts of the country, majority of them are doing their best to attend to their mandate  to save lives at the expense of their families’. In fact there were some who gave their lives to those infected with this virus. Providing them protective gears help them to be safe and uninfected so that they can go back home to their families.

This global pandemic has taken its toll on everyone. In the Philippines it grows day by day. We can help our frontliners by staying healthy and keeping safe in our homes.
