Updating and reviewing progress towards meeting the aims of the organization, DepEd Calamba City conducted its Second Division Management Committee Meeting with SDS Merthel M. Evardome, CESO V as lead on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at the Bulwagang Rizal, 4th floor of the DepEd main building.
 
In her message, SDS Evardome emphasized the importance of equally prioritizing the demands of one’s career and personal life by finding a happy balance between work and friends and family as “we work hard but make sure we enjoy life too.” She also reiterated the priority development areas in the Basic Education Development Plan 2030 and discussed issues and concerns which are in accordance with educational policies, plans, and standards.
 
Updates and concerns in the delivery of basic education services and implementation of programs, projects, and activities from the units and sections under the Office of the Schools Division Superintendent, School Governance and Operations Division, and Curriculum Implementation Division were reported by Administrative Officer V Yolanda Y. Chua, SGOD Chief Dolorosa S. De Castro, and CID Chief Mariliza T. Espada, respectively.
 
OIC-ASDS Jaypee E. Lopo placed emphasis on critical points of the latest issuances and policies including DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2023 on End-of-School Year Rites, DepEd Order No. 8, s. 2023 on the Participation of Teachers in Volunteer Work and Extra Curricular Activities, DepEd Order No. 7, s. 2023 on the Guidelines on the Recruitment, Selection, and Appointment in the Department of Education, and other important memoranda.
 
As part of the agreement presented by EPS Imee P. Aldea, all feedback and suggestions discussed shall be finalized and are set for compliance this week.
 
Meanwhile, Hon. Roseller ‘Ross’ H. Rizal, in partnership with DepEd Calamba City, distributed learners’ kits for 64,702 elementary pupils, 493 sets of kindergarten tables with chairs, 184 units of laptop, and 163 units of computer desktop for teachers. These were received by the school heads during the ceremonial turn-over.
 
The City Mayor gave updates on his CalamBago priority areas and programs such as school building program, acquisition of school sites, alternative learning system, ordinance on special masteral for teachers, and Iskolar ni Rizal program.
 
The distributed learners’ kits, ICT equipment, and furniture are in addition to what schools have already received this year as part of the support in realizing the DREAM.
