Moving toward a more inclusive society, the Schools Division Office of Calamba City continues its celebration of the 2023 National Women’s Month carrying the theme “WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society.” As part of the month-long activities, the Division spearheads a two-part livelihood training participated by selected SDO personnel on March 22 and 24, 2023, at the Bulwagang Rizal, 4th floor of the DepEd main building.
First batch of the training focused on macramé making. Public Schools District Supervisor Flor I. Tomas led the discussion on the techniques of knotting strings into decorative and useful items. This was followed by a hands-on activity where participants handcrafted macramé plant hangers made with knots and cords.
Meanwhile, Ms. Catherine R. Novillos and Ms. Vicky S. Dawang, teachers of Calamba Bayside Integrated School facilitated the no-bake cake training. After the demonstration, participants engaged in the preparation of tiramisu.
This effort of the Division is aligned with the Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028, which aims for deep economic and social transformation to reinvigorate job creation and accelerate poverty reduction for a more inclusive society.
