To ensure the smooth implementation of the revised curriculum for Kindergarten to Grade 10, the Schools Division Office of Calamba City rolls out the training series for the phased implementation of the MATATAG Curriculum at Batangas Country Club, Brgy. Bolbok, Batangas City on April 29 to May 3, 2024.

In her message, SDS Merthel M. Evardome, CESO V, underscored that the success of the curriculum depends on how well the teaching and learning strategies are implemented by the school leaders and teachers since โwe are architects of educational excellence, guardians of learnersโ rights to learn, and champions of equitable opportunities.โ

โOur leadership has the power to inspire and empower teachers and strengthen the entire community,โ SDS Evardome added.

OIC-ASDS Nadine C. Celindro urged everyone to listen attentively and gain an in-depth understanding of the general shape of the curriculum so โwe can train our teachers in the field and help improve learning outcomes.โ

During the first plenary session, CID Chief Mariliza T. Espada tackled the General Shape of the MATATAG Curriculum. She explained the context of the K to 12 program, the curriculum revision process, factors that guided the curriculum revision, and its salient features, way forward, and aspirations.

Recognizing the integration of 21st-century skills vis-ร -vis the MATATAG curriculum and learning competencies, EPS of Kindergarten Enelyn T. Badillo led the discussion on the 21st-century skills framework and its domains such as skills on Information, Media, and Technology, Learning and Innovation, Communications, and Life and Career.

The participants were assigned to breakout rooms per grade level and learning area.
Moreover, a total of 151 participants composed of school heads, master teachers, and head teachers were in attendance who will lead the school-based training before the beginning of the next school year.
The phased implementation of the curriculum is set for School Year 2024-2025.
