Hindi pwede ang pwede na — SDS Evardome
“Hindi pwede ang pwede na. Dapat ay pwede talaga.”
Reassigned Schools Division Superintendent of the Schools Division Calamba City, Dr. Merthel M. Evardome, CESO V highlighted the importance of “beginning with the end in mind” and continuing the quality service the outgoing SDS Gerlie Ilagan has started in the achievement of one DREAM for Calambeño learners during the installation and welcome program held today, April 14, 2023.
OIC-Assistant School Division Superintendent (ASDS) Jaypee E. Lopo welcomed the attendees from SDO Batangas Province, SDO Calamba City and other partner institutions at the start of the program.
In his speech, ASDS Lopo focused on the presentation of the DREAM Framework and how it has been helping the SDO to address the needs and gaps of the Calambeño learners during the pandemic.
Serving as Mayor Ross Rizal’s representative, Mr. Avel Landicho accentuated the power of women since SDO Calamba City has always had a female superintendent. He also stressed the great contribution of SDS Ilagan in just a short span of time.
SDS Ilagan mentioned that in her one-year stay in SDO Calamba City, she has observed that the people in the SDO are those with commitment, love, and pride for what they do.
“They always find ways to push hard just to deliver quality service to the learners and all the clients of DepEd Calamba. With the support of the LGU, the SDO was able to deliver the basic services and provide the necessary needs of the learners,” she added.
SDS Ilagan expressed her great joy knowing that the new leader of SDO Calamba City is her mentor.
“Iyak ng tuwa ang nararamdaman ko dahil ang Calamba ay hindi mapupunta sa iba. Hindi iba ang papalit sa akin; mamahalin ng Calamba si Ma’am [Merthel],” SDS Ilagan added.
Accepting her new post, SDS Evardome challenged the teaching and non-teaching personnel of SDO Calamba City to “test the waters” first and to be the ones to “make a promise” as to how they will work together in the attainment of “serbisyong tapat at karapat-dapat.”
“May we find our happiness in serving others,” SDS Evardome said.
SDS Evardome was also introduced to Mayor Ross Rizal personally at his office. Mayor Rizal expressed the willingness of the local government to continuously help and support the SDO. Also, he mentioned that he is looking forward to a good working relationship with the new SDS.
