Beneficiaries of the SPIMS (“Sa ‘Pinas, Ikaw ang Ma’am at Sir”) program shared their inspiring reintegration journeys during the Balikbayang Manggagawa National Reintegration Network Division Fair of the Schools Division of Calamba City at Bulwagang Rizal, 4th floor of the DepEd main building on April 14, 2026.

 

In her message, Assistant Regional Director Karen M. Quilao of the Department of Migrant Workers Region IV-A CALABARZON highlighted the SPIMS program as a key reintegration initiative designed for overseas Filipino worker teachers who have successfully passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers.

 

She discussed the program’s objectives, eligibility requirements, necessary documents, and the application process, providing valuable guidance to interested participants.

 

During the event, SPIMS beneficiaries who are now teaching in the Division shared their personal experiences abroad and their transition back to the Philippine education system.

 

Among them were Jamie Miles A. Banalan of Calamba City Science Integrated School, Anna Mae C. Apalla of Laguerta Elementary School, Jeraldine D. Oso of Bubuyan Elementary School, and Beatriz Q. Estrada and Rachel R. Viterbo of Calamba Integrated School.

 

They recounted the challenges they faced as migrant workers and how the SPIMS program supported their successful return to teaching in Calamba City.

 

The interview segment was hosted by SEPS Kevin A. Domingo, with EPS-SGOD Imee P. Aldea and AO V Robert Alain H. Bomuel serving as interviewers.
