The Local Government Unit of Calamba City, headed by Hon. Mayor Roseller ‘Ross’ H. Rizal backed the Schools Division Office’s moves in advancing quality education through the provision of support to the schools and the learners in a four-part activity held today, March 27, 2023.
All inclusions in the proposed lined items in the supplemental 2 budget of the Special Education Fund have been “approved in principle,” declared the local chief executive during the Local School Board Meeting.
Hon. Rizal also co-signed the Memorandum of Agreement and other documents relative to the establishment of the DepEd SAGIP and Adopt-a-Child Foundation as an incorporator. The said foundation, which is now SEC-registered, is part of the legacy of the previous and present Schools Division Superintendents, aiming to provide better help to deserving but socially disadvantaged learners.

The City Mayor, as the chair of Calamba City College (CCC), inked deal with DepEd Calamba on the use of Calamba Elementary School as temporary home for CCC’s classes while renovation is underway.
Finally, he also met with Assistant Secretary for Field Operations, Dr. Francis Cesar B. Bringas and briefly discussed his agenda for education and the support he extends to DepEd in general.
SDS Gerlie Ilagan, in her statement, expressed her gratitude for the mayor’s leadership as “he is always proactive in providing support and making education one of his priorities.”
