Aspiring for continuous integration of sports in learners’ development, the Schools Division of Calamba City, in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Calamba, conducted the Solidarity Meeting in preparation for the 2023 Regional Athletics Association Meet at LLC Auditorium, Calamba Elementary School on March 22, 2023.
 
In her message, OIC-SDS Gerlie Ilagan underscored the value of sportsmanship and spirit of excellence, fair play, and solidarity during competitions as “we instill among the youth essential characteristics for nation-building such as discipline, teamwork, and perseverance.” She expressed appreciation to the support extended by the City Government of Calamba under the leadership of Mayor Roseller ‘Ross’ H. Rizal.
 
Meanwhile, Mayor Rizal guaranteed that the learners will receive quality education while helping them improve their skills in competitive sports as “we prioritize sports development in the city by providing programs that will help student-athletes hone their physical skills while being academically competitive.”
One of the highlights of the activity was the distribution of athletic uniforms and allowances to student-athletes and training staff under the Special Education Fund. This was followed by the orientation on the roles and responsibilities of technical and management working committees.
 
A total of 400 delegates will represent Calamba City in the upcoming Regional Athletic Association Meet on March 24-26, April 1-2, and 15-16, 2023 at the Schools Division of Dasmariñas City, Imus City, and Cavite City.
